Throughout history man kind has always searched for ways to entertain himself, each time developing new activities and games. Video games have become a very popular way to spend time and have fun from the 1970ââ¬â¢s up to now. With new developments appeared different video game genres from adventure to racing, but the violent video games appear to be the most popular ones (Shin, 2003), for example: shooters, fighting and video games where you have to eliminate, destroy, or kill your enemies. Video games have become very influential on children and adults (Stafford, 1999). With violent video games humans are more prone to act aggressively, to have aggressive thoughts and become numb towards violence (Harding, 2009). Apart from these they areâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Now a day however VDUââ¬â¢s have evolved and we created LCDââ¬â¢s with higher quality and standard giving the opportunity for violent video games to be more graphic and real (Stafford, 1999) like for example ââ¬Å"when characters get shot a large spray of blood covers the walls and floor near the characterâ⬠(Shin, 2003). The processor of the consoles has also been a key factor to the development of more real-looking violent video games. From Intelââ¬â¢s 4004 microprocessor up to Intelââ¬â¢s core 2 duo E8500 processor we have seen how computers are able to do more tasks in less time. This development has given a way for violent video games to be more free in the sense that more actions can be made, the virtual worlds are bigger and there are more objectives to be done or enemies to be eliminated. C. The impact of the issue Violence in video games has been proved to raise the aggression on video gamers in the short and long term, whether itââ¬â¢s in their language, attitude or actions. Also video games not only cause this but they also decrease prosocial behavior and empathy (Anderson, 2010).
